1 - What is the ERMO business?
ERMO specializes in the design and manufacture of injection moulds up to 96 cavities for a wide range of business applications, from automotive sector (the so-called "LIGHTING" business unit) for the production of rear and front lenses and wide plastic surface, to multicavities solutions (the so called "TEC PAC" business unit) for caps and closure, plastic thin wall packaging, cosmetics and medical low weight-high volumes plastic elements.
2 - Where does ERMO manufacture all its moulds?
Our TEC PAC business unit for multicavities moulds deploys the whole production process from product design to mould try-out in its three plants in France (Marcillé la Ville, Mayenne and Vire) whereas ERMO LIGHTING is based in San Polo di Piave (Italy) and Hangzhou (China) with technical office, R&D and production plants in both locations. The start-up of the Chinese plant in 2014 aims to better serve the growing Asian automotive markets such as China, India, Malaysia and Thailand
3 - What is the average lead-time for manufacturing a mould?
The manufacturing lead-time depends on the technical difficulty and complexity of the mould. For our TEC PAC business unit on average it takes between 15 to 20 weeks for multi-cavity moulds the lead-time may vary. For our LIGHTING business unit the lead time is on average varying between 20 to 26 weeks depending on the complexity of the mould and the finished product.
4 - What determines the pricing of a mould?
There are several factors that determine the final price of a mould. The main are:
- the number of cavities in the mould and its interchangeability
- the research and design of the part to be produced
- the warranty period
- the cycle time
- the type of injection required
- Cycle time
- the technology used
All this information is essential for us to give you a quotation based on your individual requirements.
5 - Does ERMO have a testing centre?
Yes, ERMO deploys a high number of moulding machines from 30T to 550T available for any mould try-out in all its production plants (France, Italy and China) for both the TEC PAC business unit (from 30T to 550T) and the LIGHTING business unit (from 800T to 2300T).
6 - Can you help us with design?
Yes, ERMO design teams can support customers with co-design service
7 - Can you assist your customers with commissioning the mould on their site?
We can give a quotation for providing assistance with commissioning up the mould in the customer's factory on demand. Someone from the ERMO group will come to help you with commissioning the mould on site.
