Electrical In Mold Closing

In 2000, ERMO invented IMC (In Mould Closure), a technology that allows the part to be closed directly in the mold, without the need for an additional robot for this closing step.

In 2017, ERMO took this innovation a step further by electrifying the system with E-IMC. Since then, this technology has continued to improve. Today, it is recognized for its productivity, closure quality, and reliability.

Thanks to the absence of compressed air, E-IMC consumes very little energy, offering excellent energy performance. This is a major advantage for industries that are increasingly committed to a more responsible and “green” approach.
The switch to electric also brings increased precision: unlike a pneumatic system, it is possible to precisely define the pressure on the part and to control the contact areas exactly during closure.

Another notable advantage is that the E-IMC is a much quieter system.
In terms of maintenance, the E-IMC offers great flexibility. Technicians can intervene remotely, while press adjusters can modify the closing and return trajectory on both sides of the mold simply by programming the control tablet.

Innovation at the heart of ERMO's DNA

Today, ERMO is continuing this dynamic evolution with a new version of its E-IMC system, which is particularly suited to the most demanding environments, such as the medical sector.

This major development means that the system no longer requires oil, making maintenance easier and perfectly meeting the constraints of the most demanding environments.
